Healthy award for PJ's truckers cafe

A truckers cafe near Uttoxeter Staffordshire has won an award for healthy menu's for truckers that offer much more than the normal fatty fried food usually found at such establishments. Although if you want you can have the fry ups an'all.

Not too long ago back in just after being voted in the top ten transport cafe's in the UK, PJ's on the A515 between Uttoxeter and Lichfield closed down for good or so they thought. Right now in 2009 its reopened under new management.
When Allan, aged 40, and Wendy first set their eyes on the eatery in 2007, they realised they would have a huge job to turn around its fortunes.
"It had been a real dirty greasy spoon and it had fallen into real problems financially," explained Wendy, who used to work at Fradley Park.
"We have spent many thousands of pounds changing the menu and making sure customers are served how we would like to be treated. Word of mouth has got around and now drivers come out of their way to pay us a visit."
So now with a completely new look and serving healthy options to UK truckers they are deservedly winning awards again for their healthy menu's.

A spokesman for professional drivers' organisation LGV-Pro said: "At last. PJ's is our first transport cafe member to offer wholesome food. They have led the way in healthy truckers' tucker."
