I think its time we all signed on, then we might start getting some money thrown at us instead of being taken from us.
When will this all end!

Motorists face new £15 'victims levy'
Motorists in England and Wales fined for minor offences face having to pay bigger penalties under a government scheme to compensate victims of crime.

Since 2007, a £15 surcharge has been added to the fines of all people convicted of a crime, to raise money for support services for crime victims.

Now ministers want to extend the scheme to on-the-spot fines and fixed penalty notices for a range of offences.

They say the offences that could be targeted are not victimless crimes.

Under the current scheme, anyone fined by the courts pays an extra £15.

'Stealth tax denial'

However, ministers believe the amount raised could be significantly increased if it was extended to include people issued with on-the-spot fines or fixed penalty notices.

This could include motorists caught speeding or flouting parking restrictions and those guilty of disorder offences such as shoplifting, writing graffiti or being drunk and disorderly.

does not really surprise you does it but I don't care where in the world you are, all governments will rob you whichever way they can get away with, Canada and the USA are no exception I can tell you, they just do it in different ways.
Everyone wants a little of what you have just seems at the moment the British gov want a little more, I wonder why?

Dick Turpin comes to mind

I don't really see how this is a stealth tax. Speeding is a crime, and can easily result in someones death, so it seems perfectly reasonable that people that commit crimes should be responsible for compensating the victims of crime. It is basically an increase in the level of fine you recieve, and if you don't want to pay it maybe you should consider staying below the speed limit. The old adage "if you can't do the time - don't commit the crime" still applies. The choice is yours.
