A lorry driver arrested after 12 people were injured in a pile-up on the M6 in Warwickshire has been released on bail.
The 31-year-old was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving following Thursday evening's crash on the southbound carriageway near Rugby.
A six-year-old girl airlifted to hospital with severe head injuries remains in a "poorly" condition at the Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham.
Her younger brother suffered two broken legs and an arm in the crash.
Their mother was also injured and all three are being treated at the same hospital. The family are thought to be from Hereford.
Another woman who had been in the same car is being treated at Selly Oak hospital for numerous injuries, but they are not thought to be life threatening.
Police said the four were travelling southbound in an Audi car when the accident happened.
Eight more people were taken to hospital for treatment.
The crash took place between junction 1 (Rugby) and the Catthorpe interchange and involved the Audi car, a lorry, two vans, two more cars and a Toyota multi-purpose vehicle.
The lorry driver has been bailed until 27 May.
