A P.E.I. trucking company and its president have been charged under Canada's Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.

According to court documents, Bulk Carriers is charged with one count of counselling misrepresentation and the company's owner, Jack Kelly, is charged with misrepresentation.

Officials with the investigative branch of the Canada Border Services Agency did not disclose why the charges were laid.

The agency alleges the offences took place between March 2008 and July 2008. The maximum penalty is a $50,000 fine or two years in jail.

Kelly's lawyer declined to comment until the case goes to court on Oct. 5.

I don't know the company very well but just happened to be on PEI yesterday and drove past Bulk Carriers...

One of the reactions on that article sayd there're always lots of trucks in the yard... And he is right, it was friday 2PM and the yard was stuffed up, like everybody had a day off... That's not a good sign, is it..??

Reactions are just as always... One says it's the best company ever, another one says the boss is a criminal and the baddest guy he knows...

It's not as bad as it looks. There are 9 new trucks in the yard waiting for Qualcomms and tri-pacs, and there are also some old ones that are coming off the road. I was in the yard on friday, and quite a few drivers were just returning from long trips. That's an odd coincidence, I know, for drivers to get back on the same day, but thats just what it is - a coincidence.

I had be to Charlottetown before but didn't notice Bulk Carriers just there on highway 1... I also noticed that it's not a very big company but that there were a lot of trucks in the yard...

And then I read that article overhere...

But like you mention, it could be just a coincidence...

One of the Dutch guys that started at REM 4 years ago had the choice going to Bulk Carriers or REM. He chose REM but that's the reason I always recognice the trucks of Bulk Carriers when I see one...

If you were there Friday afternoon, why didn't you wave at me when I passed by... We could have had a coffee or something... Oh no, we couldn't, I was in a big rush getting my two drops off... As always...
